La Vida Divine Retreat

Safety Measures During Covid-19

What are the travel guidelines for traveling to Ecuador?

Participants must comply with local travel guidelines which are updated based on pandemic activity: https://ec.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-ecu-2/

At La Vida Divine Plant Medicine & Healing Center, we care about your well-being - both physical and spiritual. In light of the ongoing Covid-19 worldwide pandemic, we are constantly evaluating the risk of holding retreats and our response to the local risk status. Below, is our most up-to-date Covid-19 Safety Protocols.

By attending an LVD event or retreat, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others; or

2. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

What preventive measures do you have in place to guard against Covid-19?

Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, we have put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

  • Retreats are limited to four (4) guests who’ve not traveled together in a pod and six (6) guests for those traveling together in a pod.

  • Social distancing between participants and staff will be required throughout stays

  • We suggest facial covering/masks be worn whenever it is prudent while at our retreat property (except during ceremony where participants will be distanced by more than 10 feet from each other)

  • Hand washing supplies are readily available

  • Services that require close contact have been suspended

What preventive measures should be taken prior to arrival and during my stay?

By attending an LVD event or retreat, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others; or

2. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

Before your arrival:

  • You agree to isolate yourself for at least seven (7) days before your travel to us.

  • You agree to comply with all entry requirements as dictated by the government of Ecuador. Currently, proof of a negative PCR test prior to travel is needed.

  • If you are already in Ecuador or travel inside the country before arriving at our facility, you understand that proof of a Negative Covid-19 test (PCR or Rapid) is required within 72 hours of arrival at our retreat facility. No exceptions.

    • You can arrange ahead of time to arrive 2 days prior to the start of your retreat and obtain a Covid-19 test in Macas. This stay will be charged separately at our daily rate of $50.00/day including 3 meals. Local lab testing cost: approximately $150.00.

During your retreat stay:

  • Staff and guests will undergo daily temperature and symptom checks

  • Staff and guests will wear masks when inside the retreat house except during meals

  • Social distancing will be observed by staff and guests during all activities including meals

  • Common areas and surfaces are disinfected 2-3 times a day

DUTY TO SELF-MONITOR:

Participants and staff agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath) and contact La Vida Divine Plant Medicine & Healing Center if they experience symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days after participating or volunteering with us.

Although we cannot guarantee that participants will not become infected with COVID-19, we will adjust our retreat activity based on current local Covid-19 activity as well as government recommendations.

We hope the information we’ve provided here will make your choice to journey with us a bit more secure and well-informed.

What cost are covered should I become sick before or at the retreat?

All healthcare costs related to Covid-19 (testing, illness, medications, hospitalization, medical transport, quarantine, etc) are your responsibility.
